Timberland: Receptionist
What will you do?
A day in the life of a Receptionist at Timberland looks a little like this.
The primary responsibilities of the Receptionist are to support all activities relating to the front desk. This includes welcoming visitors, managing and directing phone calls, receiving services, collaborating with other building service members and providing general administrative support to the office.
Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
Make a great first impression by greeting all incoming visitors, including employees
Direct visitors, contact employees to notify them of visitors; ensure no one waits for a long period of time
Answer all incoming telephone calls professionally and transfer call to respective extensions. Provide a consistent polite greeting that represents the corporate office and brands.
Issue visitor badges and ensure visitors are escorted by the person they are visiting
Maintain security by ensuring visitors log in or sign in and out as appropriate
Assist with the tracking of contractors as needed
Log incoming deliveries received in the reception area and notify recipients
Act as liaison for Workplace environments Team
Monitor incoming requests from VF employees and teams; ensure requests are dispatched and completed with team. Communicate status of service request to requestor and escalate as needed to Workplace Environment management.
Provide back-up support for the Workplace Environments team, including assisting with mail room package receipt and delivery and meeting room set up as needed.
Request building access badges for new hires, visiting employees and vendors; liaison with building and/or VF Global Security teams as needed for badge review and audits, creation or termination, etc.
Assist with special projects as needed
Schedule building conference rooms and catering as needed
Perform other administrative duties as assigned
What do you need to succeed?
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 3 - 5 years of related professional experience ideally as a front desk receptionist or in hospitality/customer service.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent customer service and strong desire to help the internal and external customers
A can-do approach
Ability to effectively utilize PCs, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Outlook email
Strong organization and attention to detail
