Summary of duties: Provide operational support by monitoring and troubleshooting various components of BlackRock’s Aladdin Enterprise Investment System and various components of Aladdin, to ensureavailability and performance. Participate in projects to enhance resiliency and ensure availability and stability of BlackRock’s Aladdin systems. Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible etc. to provision, manage and scale Kubernetes Infrastructure and services On-Prem and Cloud. Setup and maintain CI/CD Pipelines by applying DevOps principles toautomate lifecycle management of Kubernetes clusters. Utilize programming and scripting languages, like Python, Perl or Bash to automate operational tasks and processes. Create, Deploy and Manage Kubernetes Objects via GitOps Continuous Deployment framework. Participate in the weekly on-call schedule, which includes responsibility for monitoring health of Kubernetes Clusters, Nodes, Application Servers, File transfers, Batch Jobs, troubleshooting Node failures, troubleshooting any ongoing incidents, coordinate and resolve production issues and providing hourly updates to the command center. Conduct analyses on Kubernetes infrastructure and cluster performance, root cause diagnostics to understand the operatingquality of production environments to achieve a stable and smooth platform at all times. Assist in the implementation of any Production Operations changes. Support the planning of disaster recovery contingencies of applications. Support batch workloads, real-time / interactive processing, data transfer services, application on-boarding and upgrades and recovery procedures. Create and set up FTP transfer jobs between BlackRock and its clients.. Work on Unix operating systems and Linux platforms. Utilize FTP, and SFTP protocols for setting upautomated processes. Monitor system resources including CPU and memory. Perform Linux resource management. Perform various tasks to enhance resiliency of pre-production and production environments using automation scripts.. Conduct root cause analysis to address routine to moderately complex issues with accuracy or performance, monitoring Container logsusing Splunk and visualizing using Grafana dashboards for troubleshooting Issues.
Qualifications: Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field. Foreign equivalent accepted. Requires three (3) years of experience in the following skills: 1. Utilizing Unix operating systems and Linux platforms on behalf of a global financial services institution; 2. Automating operational tasks and processes using scripting and programming languages like Python, PERL and Shell;3. Utilizing FTP and SFTP protocols; 4. Providing application support; 5. Monitoring system resources including CPU & memory; 6. Conducting performance tuning; 7. Utilizing Agile and DevOps methodologies; 8. Performing Linux resource management; 9. Setting up and maintaining CI/CD Pipelines; 10. Deploying and managing Kubernetes objects via GitOps framework; 11. Provisioning, upgrading, scaling and lifecycle management of Kubernetes clusters on-premise and public clouds; 12. Providing operational support to Kubernetes platforms;
13. Automating provisions of Kubernetes infrastructure and services using Terraform, Ansible etc.; and, 14. Monitoring Kubernetes clusters and resources using Prometheus and Grafana.
