About Crotched Mountain School:
Crotched Mountain School (CMS), a program of Seven Hills New Hampshire, hosts innovative special education, recreation, arts, music, and vocational programming for students, aged 5-21, who are on the autism spectrum, and/or have disabilities and other challenges that are better supported in an alternative, least-restrictive environment to their local public school system. Students have the option to live year-round in the appointed residences on the sprawling campus located in Greenfield, New Hampshire. Situated on thousands of acres of preserved habitat, CMS offers a therapeutic environment in which students are encouraged to explore and thrive.
About the RoleCrotched Mountain School is seeking a skilled and dedicated Special Education Coordinator to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of specialized education services. This leadership position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations, while supporting instructional staff and fostering strong relationships with external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of special education programming, including IEP development, triennials, alternative assessments, and transition planning
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education laws and regulations
- Supervise and support paraeducators, the Educational Supervisor, and Vocational Coordinator
- Serve as liaison to referring school districts, community agencies, and vocational services
- Collaborate with the Principal to provide professional development and coaching to staff
- Monitor and evaluate special education documentation and student progress
- Support school operations, classroom assignments, and key school events (e.g., graduation, prom)
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Special Education (required)
- Valid New Hampshire certification in Special Education (required)
- Administrative or Principal/Assistant Principal certification (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of classroom experience in special education
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
