Job Duties
The Deputy Clerk (Grade 8) is assigned operational responsibilities and ensures court's instructions are executed and legal papers are prepared with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities —
Duties include preparing detailed court documents in accordance with established guidelines, to include warrant in debts, garnishments, unlawful detainers. Automated case management system data entry, scheduling matters for court, preparing correspondence, filing of court documents, daily docket preparation, attending court sessions. Additional responsibilities include answering phones, assisting customers at the counter, processing incoming mail. Must be dependable with a strong work ethic, able to multitask and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management in an extremely high-volume court.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to multitask. Excellent customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills and advanced knowledge of office automation systems and computer software required. Prior civil experience and a background in legal/law firm services is preferred.
