**Certified Medical Assistant required
Summary:
The Quality Assistant analyzes patient chart data to confirm UDS measures are being met and addressed appropriately by the providers. This person will work closely and communicate with insurance groups, physicians, medical and billing staff. The Quality Assistant supports the initiatives of the Quality Improvement program.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides coordination and support of UDS projects including data coordination and data entry as well as retrieval of medical records.
- Responsible for the coordination and timely completion of quality initiatives
- Recognizes that patient safety and performance improvement are priorities by striving to continuously improve service excellence, clinical excellence, improve performance and patient safety, quality outcomes, teamwork, patient care coordination, and resource management.
- Conducts telephonic outreach to members to support ongoing quality initiatives with an emphasis on Star Rating Initiatives.
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of wellness events
- Performs all other assigned duties within scope of knowledge.
- Complies with Valley Healthcare System’s policies and all applicable regulatory standards, including PCMH, OSHA, Medicare, etc.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and facility in use of multiple electronic health record systems.
- Performing annual wellness visits for the Medicare population as directed.
- Directs patients to keep follow-up appointments with physician office and to maintain self-home care based on provider treatment plan of care.
- Assist with referral process as directed.
- Perform any other duties asked by supervisor when needed.

$17.96/hour

Requirements
Education:
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- Certified Medical Assistant with active certification required.
- Medical office experience preferred.
- Associate degree desirable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written command of English required.
- Experience with computer skills required, i.e. Microsoft Office required.
- Previous experience in Quality Improvement preferred.
- Experience providing clinical telephone advice preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism in a demanding, high stress and fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural issues related to health care.
- Must be flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks.

Physical Requirements: Varied activities include standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting. Employee must possess full range of body motion including the ability to assist or lift patients when necessary; occasional weight bearing to exceed 50 pounds, use of portable stretchers/wheelchairs encouraged. Employee must possess hand-eye coordination with normal range of vision and hearing abilities. This position frequently requires working under stressful conditions and frequently requires irregular work hours.
