What you will do:
- Maintain liaison with customers, internal and external, and other related persons to communicate information related to deliveries, irregularities in shipments, shipment delays, and other related matters
- Manage all receiving operations, including unloading and sorting of inbound deliveries
- Will lead a team of warehouse /dock staff, coordinate with various departments, and implement best practices to optimize workflow and productivity
- Ensure that all incoming shipments are accurately and promptly processed
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all dock/warehouse-related issues. Communicate effectively with other departments, vendors, and transportation providers to ensure timely and accurate inbound shipments
- Supervise the put away function
- Supervise and train receiving staff
- Supervise replenishment staff
- Supervise the schedule to ensure success and completion of all inbound deliveries (received and put away) daily
- Monitor the accuracy of all receiving records, including inventory and stock levels
- Set employee targets, monitor performance, provide coaching counseling, and development
- Supervisor all cycle counting efforts to meet the schedule set forth by Sonepar, including review and sign off any inventory adjustments
- Maintain accurate records of inbound shipments, inventory, and dock activities. Ensure proper documentation for all incoming goods
- Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment (6 S and General housekeeping)
- Identify and resolve receiving and inventory discrepancies
- Monitor and control operational costs
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and accurate operations
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the process
What you will bring:
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Experience in the operations of a warehouse environment
- Have strong math, computer, and organizational skills
Requirements and Work Environment:
- Ability to read measurements on measuring tools (ruler, weight scales) when necessary
- Ability to perform all required mathematical calculations.
- Able to work overtime (based on business needs at the direction of management).
- Good Attendance/Safety/Work Record.
- Ability to perform and comprehend verbal and written communication in English.
