As a WC Claims Consultant/Account Liaison in the ES&S Programs space, you will act as the primary point person for Nationwide in new business proposals and account renewal roundtables.
Key focuses of this role:
- Benchmark with peer companies and develop competitive intelligence; make recommendations for new or existing claim and underwriting policies and procedures that enhance claim service to agents/accounts and/or reduce costs.
- Track and document productivity and effectiveness in assisting with new or renewal business retention.
- Actively collaborate and communicate with claims and underwriting to identify and share industry trends and field claim issues.
- Participate in claims reviews focused on ways to mitigate overall risk for the organization.
What you can expect:
- Conducts continuous and proactive analysis of claims trends and implements a ‘proactive intervention’ approach to deliver the plan.
- Actively engaged in the Workers’ Compensation industry and elevating Nationwide’s overall industry presence.
- Provide education and foster connection with the WC claims staff regarding unbundled TPA handled programs and accounts.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Workers Compensation technical expertise / industry knowledge, from within Claims, Risk Management, Loss Control, Underwriting, or a related area.
- At least 3 years of claims handling or claims supervision experience
- Evidenced relationship management experience
- Data analytics and business insights skillset as related to market/competitive research

You'll underwrite individual risk for acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms and conditions. You'll lead in the development and integration of new and existing programs and identify new program opportunities. You will participate in making reinsurance decisions; assist in developing and implementing loss control and risk management strategies. You'll collaborate between business partners for development and implementation of program specific tools (i. e. underwriting guidelines, forms/rate filings, etc) for new programs or modifications to existing programs. You'll communicate program updates to program managers and other business liaisons. In order to succeed, you will need to build and maintain effective relationships with internal business liaisons, external program managers, and other key partners. You will be responsible for the training and mentoring of underwriting team members.

Key Responsibilities:
Drives the sales and underwriting relationship for Programs products and services. Provides input and data to help drive and implement strategic underwriting plans. Provides business forecasting related to trends, and profitability within Program vertical. Responsible for achieving established goals for assigned programs.
Analyzes program manager relationships/results and recommends corrective actions if necessary. Understands business needs and identifies new business opportunities.
