This is a remote position. The ideal candidate may be based in the continental U.S. and live within a commutable distance to an airport.
Position Expectations:
- Build and manage spectroscopy sales and business development team within the US.
- Provide leadership, strategy and tactic plan to sustainable grow the spectroscopy bookings.
- Develop a sustainable business pipeline including key clients and markets that include industrial, government, and security & defense segments.
- Coordinate with internal partners to ensure aligned execution.
- Demonstrate business expertise and experience in leading sales teams in the analytical instrument space. Actively work with all team members on a consistent basis and provide feedback and coaching.
- Lead the management of external channels and programs to improve overall effectiveness.
- Apply business expertise to develop financial and operational objectives.
- Make difficult decisions that support and drive organizational strategy: influence others to support those decisions and foster personal courage in others.
- Role model the expectations of Metrohm’s Leaders document.
- Provide resources for developing the skills & capabilities for the Spectroscopy Sales team.
- Ensure plans are in place to meet & exceed goals while providing motivation and inspiration.
- Leverage knowledge of the spectroscopy market for competitive advantage and profit.
- Collaborate and influence across an organization. Work closely with product management and service to ensure alignment of resources to meet customer needs.
Position Accountabilities:
- Experience with strategic and complex sales cycles.
- Understanding of NIR and Raman spectroscopy.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills, business acumen and performance management.
- Develop and execute sales strategy.
- Ability to work across multiple business segments.
Experience & Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, graduate degree desired.
- 5+ years of sales experience within the analytical instrument industry.
- 3-5 years sales management experience.
- Able to travel >50% of the time.
- Proficient in coaching, planning, forecasting, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Additional requirements:
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, employment and education verification and a 10-panel drug screening, which includes marijuana, is also necessary. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable Motor Vehicle Report.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $150,000 - $170,000 and is eligible for performance-based bonuses.
