Job Summary

Starting Salary $18.19 - $23.19

Performs beginning level semi-technical survey work. Tasks are of routine difficulty and are performed in accordance with established procedures requiring only limited initiative and independent judgment. Tasks include cutting and removing brush, cleaning and caring for equipment, searching and digging for property and land corners, measuring and marking distances, and assisting in establishing lines and grades. This position works under immediate supervision and with detailed instructions provided by the supervisor. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through continuous observation and results obtained. Must be able to swim, lift heavy objects (50 lbs.), stand for extended periods of time, and work in adverse surroundings and weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate, preferably with some coursework in mathematics, and at least six (6) months experience working with a survey crew; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License and (CST Level I) Certified Survey Technician Level I Certification from the National Society of Professional Surveyors required within 1 year of employment.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
