About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer for the Send S3 Team, you will help design, build, and support scalable backend applications that power Mastercard’s Emerging Payments platform. You’ll contribute to high-impact initiatives within Mastercard 3.0, working closely with engineering, architecture, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and production-ready solutions.

Role
- Design, build, and maintain backend applications using Java, Spring, and Hibernate
-Contribute to development of APIs and web services supporting payment and transaction systems
-Apply strong object-oriented programming and software design principles to build scalable solutions
-Collaborate with architects and technical teams to translate functional and technical requirements into design
-Prioritize work effectively and deliver against multiple project deadlines in a fast-paced environment
-Adapt quickly to a dynamic, Agile development environment
-Assist in evaluating and deploying new technologies and tools to improve engineering efficiency
-Support integration, testing, and deployment activities across the SDLC
-Troubleshoot and resolve issues across applications and environments
-Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment with business and technical objectives

All About You
-Experience developing applications using Java / J2EE, with strong object-oriented programming knowledge
-Hands-on experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot preferred)
-Solid working knowledge of Hibernate / ORM frameworks
-Experience working with web services (REST or WSDL-first / top-down approaches
-Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software development principles
-Experience working in an Agile environment
-Proven ability to manage priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
