User Experience Design Staff

DUTIES:

  • Research, design, and propose user research plans across a particular functional domain of responsibility.

  • Responsible for the creation and delivery of visual and interaction design across a particular functional domain, site, or application.

  • Employ skills across multiple disciplines including visual design, interaction design, user research, prototyping, and content strategy and manage other resources on these efforts.

  • Determines user research methodologies to optimize data collection.

  • Interact with stakeholders to determine requirements and set expectations.

  • Create user scenarios and stories to coordinate with other teams.

  • Lead user research sessions and analyze research results to inform design and development.

  • Design organization and categorization of schemas within an information system.

  • Develop navigation structures to support proper wayfinding and ensure navigational consistency across multiple complementary sites and/or applications.

  • Structure and classify sites and applications to help people find and manage information.

  • Design an information space to facilitate task completion and intuitive access to content.

  • Develop a range of UX deliverables, including task flows, information architecture (IA) diagrams, design studies, wireframes, and high-fidelity interface mockups.

  • Provide line-level creative direction for a particular functional domain of responsibility.

  • Lead, present, defend and articulate design work in design reviews with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Execute interaction design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Research interaction design trends and lead concept creation and development of design systems.

  • Oversee development of style guides, and ensure ongoing completeness and relevance.

  • Socialize design specifications and style guides with stakeholders to ensure understanding and adoption.

  • Apply critical thinking to a variety of complex user problems, taking into account user needs, business objectives and technical constraints.

  • Determine need for prototyping efforts, based on functional complexity and requirements.

  • Create and propose prototyping standards and toolsets.

  • Act as an internal UX Subject Matter Expert (SME) for projects, to ensure design consistency and sharing of best practices.

  • May telecommute.

REQUIREMENTS:

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Engineering, Psychology, Human-Factors, Cognitive Science, or related field and 12 months of work experience in the job offered or in a UX research-related occupation. Position requires:

  • Human-centered design process: qualitative research, synthesis, ideation, prototyping, or implementation;

  • Conveying concepts through wireframes, flows, storyboards, or mockups;

  • Miro, Figma, InVision, Sketch, Usertesting.com, UserZoom, or SurveyMonkey;

  • In-depth interviews, Concept Testing, Card-sorting, Surveys, Usability Testing, or Participatory Design;

  • Coordinating design deliverables; and

  • Developing research plan or roadmap for a product area.

RATE OF PAY:  $112,000.00 - $202,000.00 / year

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
