Basic Function
SB Energy is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Director, Mechanical Equipment Supply Chain to lead the global sourcing, supplier relationship management, and supply continuity strategies for critical thermal infrastructure supporting next-generation AI factory and advanced data center developments.
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, this role will play a central role in scaling SB Energy’s data center infrastructure platform by developing resilient and high-performing supplier ecosystems across key thermal infrastructure categories including liquid cooling systems, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC systems, heat exchangers, pumping systems, and modular thermal solutions.
The Director will work closely with the Director, OFCI Equipment Procurement Engineer to align long-range technology roadmaps with commercial sourcing strategies and integrated business planning requirements. This individual will serve as a key interface between engineering, construction, external design consultants, and strategic suppliers to ensure capacity availability, supplier performance, deployment readiness, and cost competitiveness across a rapidly expanding infrastructure portfolio.
The ideal candidate combines deep supply chain and supplier management expertise with a strong understanding of mission-critical thermal systems and hyperscale data center infrastructure delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead global sourcing and supplier management strategies for thermal infrastructure equipment supporting hyperscale AI factory and advanced data center projects
- Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships across critical thermal equipment categories including:
- Director, Thermal Infrastructure Supply Chain Heat exchangers
- Dry Coolers
- Pumping and hydronic systems
- Modular and prefabricated thermal infrastructure
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new supplier partners to support long-term infrastructure growth, capacity expansion, and supply chain diversification objectives
- Collaborate closely with the Director, AI Infrastructure Supply Chain Innovation to align sourcing execution with long-range infrastructure technology roadmaps
- Support integrated business planning (IBP) processes by translating project pipeline forecasts into supplier capacity and sourcing strategies
- Partner with internal stakeholders including:
- Director, Thermal Infrastructure Supply Chain Drive supplier performance management initiatives focused on quality, delivery reliability, manufacturing readiness, technical capability, and scalability
- Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing frameworks, strategic partnerships, and long-term supply arrangements with global equipment manufacturers and suppliers
- Monitor global market dynamics, manufacturing lead times, raw material trends, and geopolitical risks impacting thermal equipment availability and cost
- Support equipment standardization initiatives and procurement specifications in partnership with engineering and construction stakeholders
- Develop mitigation strategies for supply chain constraints, capacity shortages, and schedule risks across large-scale infrastructure programs
