Your Impact:
Amentum is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to support our federal program at Ft Meade, MD. The Intel and Cyber Division is assembling a team of highly skilled systems engineers to prototype a next-generation collaboration capability for the Department of Defense. As the Lead Systems Engineer you will lead a small team responsible for high- and low-level system design, development, integration, performance testing, demonstration and government acceptance testing, culminating in deployment to initial production sites.

Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify appropriate solutions based on system requirements
- Lead system design, development, and engineering tasks
- Manage and track SE team’s workload using in Agile sprints using JIRA and Confluence tools.
- Produce system architecture design, component selection, and integration planning
- Provide technical guidance to system engineering team
- Manage deployment of enterprise-level virtual environment software and management suites (ESXi and Nutanix hypervisors)
- Design and implement system network configurations with an overall goal of highly adaptable, scalable, and resilient services in a global system deployment
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Deliver and integrate new technical solutions and provide advice and recommendations to government customers.
- Perform system and software updates to enhance performance
- Develop and implement solutions across a wide range of technologies
- Implement and maintain Government standards for system security
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Here's What You'll Need:
Requirements:
- Experience with Windows Server2022, 2025, Citrix XenDesktop, VMware ESXi, Active Directory, SAN, VCP 7.X. & 8.X, Nutanix AHV and Prism.
- Experience with designing and implementing Cisco UCS Computing Servers, Hyperflex Servers design
- Experience working in a DoD classified environment
- Demonstrated experience in security requirements associated with DoD enterprise systems
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies, STIGs, and RMF processes
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint
- Experience briefing high-level as well as detailed system capabilities and operational concerns and considerations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills; critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Clearance Required:
- Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
Minimum Education:
- HS Diploma
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 12+ years of related experience
Required Certifications:
- Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II or IAM-I baseline certification requirements such as Security + or equivalent
- Certified in accordance with Cyber Workforce Management Program DoDD 8140.1 and DoD 8570.01-M
Preferred:
- MCSE Certification
- BS in Computer Science or related technical degree
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies and JIRA/C
