Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position Prepare and review federal and state income tax return compliance functions; prepare and review tax financial reporting for GAAP and statutory accounting; perform tax research and special projects Responsibilities:
40% 1. Prepare and review quarterly tax provisions and accruals, including analysis of tax-basis balance sheets, for financial reporting 40% 2. Prepare and review various federal and state income tax returns and related supporting workpapers 20% 3. Special projects as assigned, including analysis and research, as well as other job duties as assigned Knowledge/Experience/Education/Training: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required; CPA is highly desired. At least five years of experience in corporate income tax compliance and financial reporting. Must be proficient in Excel spreadsheet software and be able to learn new software systems quickly. Experience with OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision and SAP systems is a plus. Abilities:
Must be organized, detail oriented, and possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to meet critical deadlines and handle several projects simultaneously with little supervision. Must be a team player and be able to motivate other team members to meet deadlines.

Ability to research, analyze and apply varying financial reporting and compliance requirements; understand and prepare provisions and related financial statements and disclosures. Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.This position also offers additional incentive opportunities [through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance].
