About the role
The Senior Data Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining the Configuration Management system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain the Configuration Management system, including the PLM system
- Recommend improvements to the Configuration Management system
- Assist in providing department guidance and training to team members
- Maintain and control item configuration (including revision and lifecycle), ensuring data integrity
- Release and revise controlled data in the Product Lifecycle Management System and related configuration tools, including item numbers, Bills of Materials, drawings, and technical specifications
- Ensure engineering data completeness and accuracy
- Establish component configuration, including detailed item data and datasheet controls, sourcing information and item relationships
- Route controlled items throughout the Change Order process from request, submittal, approval, to notification.
- Facilitate item release and configuration issue resolution with data originators and stakeholders
- Distribute controlled item data to established suppliers and customers.
- Maintain Quality Management System documentation
- Support management by preparing and providing status reports
- Provide support for data management activities at meetings
- Participate in or lead improvement projects related to configuration management and connected department activities
- Provide general and targeted configuration training to company staff
- Coordinate with HR and IT to establish PLM access policies for new hires and existing staff
- Perform other configuration functions as required
- May be required to work outside of normal office hours as is needed for urgent processing and release of controlled items, including evenings and weekends
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of configuration management disciplines, including document release and data management
- Strong working experience with PLM and/or ERP systems
- Knowledge of project lifecycle process controls for engineering documentation in a technology-based company
- Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions in written, verbal, diagram, or project schedule format
- Capable of reading Electrical and Mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of printed circuit board assemblies and documentation
- Proficient with standard office software, including MS Word, MS Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence or similar ticketing and collaboration tools
Pay: 58,000 - 77,000 per year
