Role Overview

The Senior Data Insights analyst is responsible for facilitating day to day activities to support the strategic evolution and/or adoption of Master and Reference Data in coordination with the Data Governance team. The overall objective is to support the creation, maintenance and adoption of a unified and consistently defined fit-for-purpose enterprise-wide Master and Reference Data domains.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Insights Analyst with strong commercial expertise in Tableau to join our Master Reference Data Business Intelligence team. This role is crucial in transforming complex banking data into clear, actionable insights through compelling Tableau dashboards for senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will design, development, and maintain high-impact data visualizations, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery. You will possess demonstrably strong data modelling, database, and ETL skills, coupled with a proven ability to build compelling narratives from complex data. Demonstrate a drive to adopt and implement best practices in data visualisation and reporting.

What we’ll need from you

  • Tableau Expertise (intermediate / advanced): Proven strong proficiency in designing, developing, and deploying complex, interactive Tableau dashboards, and reports. Must be currently working with Tableau in a professional environment and have many years of relevant and hands-on experience with Tableau Server.
  • Data Visualization: Demonstrably strong data visualization skills with a deep understanding of principles, UX/UI best practices for dashboards, and the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • SQL (intermediate / advanced): Highly proficient in SQL for querying large and complex relational databases, data manipulation, and performance tuning. Strong SQL skills are a must. Experience with various database systems, in particular Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Data Modelling & Database Skills: Demonstrably strong data modelling skills/experience (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema) and solid understanding of database design and management.
  • ETL Skills: Strong ETL skills using various industry technologies for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Data Analyst & Process Engineering: Demonstrated Data Analyst and process engineering skillset.
  • Data Sources & Connectivity: Experience connecting Tableau to diverse data sources, including traditional databases, cloud data platforms, and APIs.
  • Performance Tuning: Ability to identify and resolve performance issues in Tableau dashboards and underlying data queries.
  • Scripting/Programming (Desirable): Experience with Python or R for data manipulation, statistical analysis, or integration with BI tools is a plus.
  • Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) for managing ETL and data assets
  • Effective collaborator: By being able to build relationship and partnerships with others to meet shared objectives as well as communicating effectively and in a way that conveys a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Project management: A strong understanding of various project management methodologies and tools, the ability to monitor tight deadlines and / or unexpected requirement changes, and proficiency in the use of basic Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • High degree of initiative and personal accountability, self-starter and highly motivated.
  • Strong documentation skills.
