Job Summary
Summary<br>Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will operate radiographic equipment, position patients, and capture high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists or other healthcare providers.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>Yes<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Perform various diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other radiographic examinations, as ordered by physicians or other healthcare providers. <br>-Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. <br>
-Explain the procedure, answer questions, and address concerns to help alleviate patient anxiety. <br>
-Operate and adjust imaging equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI scanners, and related accessories. <br>
-Follow established protocols and ensure proper positioning and settings for optimal image quality. <br>
-Capture high-quality images and review them to ensure technical quality, proper positioning, and adequate exposure. <br>
-Recognize and troubleshoot technical issues to produce accurate and diagnostic images. <br>
-Follow radiation safety protocols and guidelines to minimize patient and staff exposure to ionizing radiation. <br>
-Use lead aprons, shields, and other protective devices as appropriate. <br>
-Monitor radiation dosage and equipment performance to maintain safety standards. <br>
-Maintain accurate and complete records of patient information, procedures performed, and related documentation. <br>
-Use electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other computerized tools for data entry and retrieval. <br>

Education
Associate's Degree Radiologic Technology required

Licenses and Credentials
Radiologic Technologist and Technician [State License] - Generic - HR Only required Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
Experience
Experience in radiology technology 2-3 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of radiographic techniques, equipment operation, and patient positioning.
- Familiarity with imaging procedures and protocols, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs.
- Proficiency in using radiographic equipment and associated software.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately.
