Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process Development for New Products
- Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
- Prepares IQ/OQ/PQ reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Assures product and process quality by designing and validating in-process testing methods
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
Collaborative New Product Development Team Member
- Iteratively collaborate with design teams to implement principles of Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Works with project teams to understand product requirements and educates the team on the impact manufacturing has on meeting requirements.
- Presents manufacturing summaries in project review meetings.
Facilitate Transfer of New Products and Processes to Operations
- Coordinate events to gather, document and implement VOC from operations on new product development.
- Participates in risk management activities such the generation of DFMEA and PFMEA documents
- Completes training of production leads and technicians as needed to support adoption of new products and processes.
Promote Research and Development
- Collaborate with design teams to evaluate new manufacturing technologies to expand our design toolkit.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Participate in knowledge sharing within the CPC technical community: hosting seminars, contributing to knowledge management systems, etc.
Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- B.S. in Mechanical, Plastics, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
- 7+ years of engineering experience.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD (PTC Creo preferred) and PLM (Windchill)
- Effective communicator - able to present technical content to internal and external stakeholders.
- This role may require 5% travel, domestically. Candidates should be comfortable with occasional travel as needed to support business objectives.
Preferred Skills:
- M.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics, or related field)
