Description
Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Managing data systems, networks, and peripherals; administering web-based training tools such as GTIMS, LMS, and related software; ensuring full operational capability of IT infrastructure and digital assets; providing administration, troubleshooting, and support for all task order systems, servers, and applications; and coordinating daily, weekly, and monthly backups with the Base Network Control Center (BNCC).
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate with Cybersecurity/Information Assurance Manager to obtain required certifications and training per DoD 8570 and perform FSA duties.
- Ensure user training is completed and maintain/provide system operating manuals.
- Install, configure, and maintain communication devices, servers, workstations, peripherals, and client-level software for network operations.
- Upload, test, and validate system software patches and security updates.
- Perform system administration tasks including user ID/password management, privilege assignment, and application ownership per AFI 33-200 and AFMAN 33-223.
- Conduct routine system maintenance (e.g., backups, data archiving, software updates) and monitor system performance.
- Troubleshoot system and client workstation issues; perform initial diagnostics and provide software assistance for standard office applications and wireless devices.
- Manage physical security and control of system components.
- Coordinate support and resolve issues with relevant agencies.
- Report security breaches and distribute related information in accordance with AFI 33-138 and local policy.
- Validate and track computer equipment requirements.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, plus 3+ years of IT experience on DoD systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required.
- Experience in client/server systems, network and telecom development, desktop computing, systems integration, hardware/software evaluation, and process reengineering.
- Skilled in network and telecom analysis, design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance.
- Proficient with HP-UX, HTML, Windows, SMS, MS Exchange/Outlook, TCP/IP, ISDN, FTP, Telnet, ORACLE, and MS-SQL.
- Experienced in Windows/NT server management including Active Directory, NTFS, GPO, IPsec, Exchange, SQL, and WSUS.
- Skilled in Ethernet LAN/WAN design, testing, troubleshooting, and protocols (Layer 2/3 VLANs, trunking, IOS, PIX/IDS, VoIP).
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise storage technologies including SAN, NAS, fiber channel, zoning, LUNs, security, replication, and backups.

- Proficient in Ethernet protocols, protocol analysis, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word).
