Our commitment to cutting-edge technology and continuous improvement makes us a crucial partner in driving the future of smart energy management. <span>ESB Networks own approximately 3,500km of fibre optic cable. </span>Networks Telecoms is responsible for the design, delivery and maintenance of fibre optic and copper cable services to ESB. The fibre optic infrastructure consists of fibre wrap, OPPC, OPGW, ADSS and UG fibre.  </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span>As a Senior Telecoms Professional in Networks Telecoms, you will be a key member of the Fibre Programme Delivery team, ensuring safe delivery of fibre and copper services to ESB. Working in a collaborative and inclusive environment where your contributions are valued and recognised, you will be part of a team committed to maintaining and supporting a high-performing operational network. In this position, you will ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of fibre activities for ESB Networks work programmes. You will ensure that our network management processes and structures are actively maintained and continually improved. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful operation and future development of ESB’s national telecommunications network and supporting the achievement of the ESB Networks Net Zero Strategy. </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong> </span></p> <ul> <li><span><strong>Safety Leadership:</strong> Champion safety protocols and practices, ensuring all projects adhere to stringent safety standards. Promote a culture of safety and compliance across all project phases. Preparation of safety documentation to include Risk Assessments, Method Statements and input to One Source.</span></li> <li><span><strong>Technology Integration:</strong> Oversee the integration of new infrastructure into ESB’s telecoms network, ensuring seamless deployment and operation. Utilise best practices and industry standards to drive project success. Keeping abreast of, and researching, emerging fibre technologies to provide innovative solutions to the development of core infrastructure and emerging customer needs.</span></li> <li><span><strong>Stakeholder Coordination:</strong> Maintain professional, timely, and productive communication with all stakeholders, including EirGrid, Networks Telecoms Programme Delivery and the PMO, internal service providers, vendors, and third-party suppliers.</span></li> <li><span><strong>Contractor Management:</strong> Coordinate and manage contractors, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards.</span></li> <li><span><strong>Governance and Reporting:</strong> Support a strong governance culture and ensure adherence, while managing project reporting, risks, issues, and quality. Maintaining a strong safety, quality and performance culture. </span></li> <li><span><strong>Project Management Methodology:</strong> Ensure the ESB Project Management Methodology is used during all project phases from initiation to closure. Ensure all activities are meticulously planned and executed. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.</span></li> <li><span><strong>Effective Communication:</strong> Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.</span></li> <li><span><strong>Collaborative Environment:</strong> Support a collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and open communication across all teams, including contractor resources.</span></li> <li><span><strong>Commercial Management:</strong> Oversee commercial aspects of projects, including budgeting, cost control, and contract management. Ensure financial objectives are met and commercial risks are managed effectively.</span></li> <li><span><strong>Cross-Business Support:</strong> Collaborate with other business units within ESB to ensure alignment and support for telecoms projects and initiatives.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>Experience and Qualifications</strong></span></p> <p><span><strong>Essential</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span>3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience.</span></li> <li><span>Full driving licence and access to a car.</span></li> <li><span>Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.</span></li> <li><span>Experience in delivering work programmes.</span></li> <li><span>Flexible approach to work, with a focus on excellent customer service</span></li> <li><span>Strong communication skills</span></li> <li><span>Effective stakeholder managem
