About the role

Job Description:

A Medical Assistant II performs routine clerical and clinical tasks within the clinic, assisting Physicians and other licensed providers to provide quality patient care efficiently and cost effectively.

Shift Details: 24 hours/week, Part Time. Clinic hours are Monday- Friday 7:00am-5:00pm. Schedule will be Monday 7:00am-1:00pm, Wednesdays & Fridays 8:00am-5:00pm.

Unit/Location:  Intermountain Medical Center- Heart Failure & Transplant Clinic

Additional Details: Please review Minimum Qualifications listed below before applying. ***Spanish speaking candidates would be preferred, but not required. Candidates who are comfortable drawing blood, are also preferred. This clinic offers the opportunity to draw blood, insert IV's, and perform EKG's frequently. This clinic also has great support that minimizes the paperwork demands on MA's.

As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:   

  • Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition.  

  • Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. 

  • Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care.  Attention to detail and follow-through are key components in helping to provide the care that is needed.   

 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • This position requires one of the following: Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah 

  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date 

  • Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry. 

  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
