Boeing Global Services (BGS), Government Vehicle Health Management Systems (GVHMS) Team is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers that develops and deploys creative and innovative solutions to our customers to join our team. (Hazelwood, MO/Ridley Park, PA/Plano, TX). Our mission is to provide the global defense community with solutions that maximize mission readiness and effectiveness, reduce lifecycle costs, and keep people safe. The GVHMS suite of products accomplishes this by acquiring and managing aircraft health and usage data, performing health and usage assessments, updating aircraft configuration, and recommending maintenance actions to aircraft maintainers.
The successful candidate will have a passion for working with people and for delivering exceptional products and services to our customers. Additionally, in order to capture the significant opportunities across the team, the successful candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to translate strategy to action in alignment with the organization's mission and vision.
This team applies an Agile, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and deploy Health Management solutions supporting the Next Generation Product Support (NGPS) program. The team also provides implementation and training to customer sites to ensure our solutions meet or exceed our customers' needs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops and motivates employees
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with direct reports, customers, peers, business partners, and other stakeholders
- Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and works closely with other GVHMS teams
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes
- Travel domestically and internationally
Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelors, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or technical degree
- 3+ years of experience in managing or leading a team in the software development discipline
- Experience with Product Management Principles & Methodologies
- 5+ years of experience in software development
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in immersive technologies (augmented reality or virtual reality)
- Cloud application development and deployment expertise
- Earned Value Management (EVM) silver medallion or higher
- Experience with Agile Software Development
- Experience in application integration brokers or MicroService technologies
- Experience in Web Development
Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location option. (St. Louis, MO. Ridley Park, PA. Plano, TX.)
