Location: This is a full remote role (preference of candidate residing in the Northeast Region of the United States). Candidates who live near CB offices have the option of being fully remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in office). 

About the Team  

State and District Partnerships (SDP) is laser-focused on growing and maintaining College Board’s core businesses as market dynamics change. SDP colleagues serve as the primary liaisons to states and districts who use College Board tools and services. Within SDP, the Business Planning & Operations (BP&O) team is focused on the development and implementation of efficient overall business processes within the division and through cross-organizational teams to achieve clean delivery of our programs.  We use data, observation, experience, and creativity to guide decision-making and process development.  We serve as a resource for the planning and operations of the division; encompassing the units focused on state and district partnerships, international markets, and unified state strategies.  Our team works to provide opportunities to students through promoting the use of College Board programs and services including the SAT Suite of Assessments, Advanced Placement, and BigFuture. 

About the Opportunity   

As Senior Director, Educator Ambassadors, you play a critical role in the organization’s ability to achieve organizational and divisional program goals.  Educator Ambassadors (volunteers) are champions for our portfolio of programs and services within AP, SAT Suite of Assessments, and BigFuture and they have seen the impact that these programs can have for students who are preparing for college and career.  Educator Ambassadors are called upon to speak and write about the success their students have experienced taking AP courses and exams, earning scholarships through the PSAT/NMSQT and BigFuture, or being recognized for their academic achievement.  Ambassadors are powerful spokespeople who tell their and their students’ stories to elected officials, boards of education, and the public.  We have a growing community of nearly two thousand ambassadors who know first-hand how College Board programs can change students’ lives.  Established nearly ten years ago, our Education Ambassadors program is a proven success in expanding opportunities for students, and we are looking for the right individual to build upon that success for the next decade and beyond.  

In this role, you will:  

Strategy Development and Execution (40%) 

• Define and execute strategy for how multiple divisions (e.g., Communications, Marketing, Government Relations, Policy, State & District Partnerships, Membership & Governance, Advanced Placement, College Readiness Assessments, BigFuture) can best engage Education Ambassadors (EAs) to help achieve organizational goals, especially through our unified state strategy to help states, districts, and schools broaden access to foundational AP courses such as AP Precalculus, English 10: AP Seminar, and AP Computer Science Principles 

• Cultivate and build a pool of qualified, well-respected EAs who can speak and/or write about their experiences and outcomes for students when implementing College Board programs 

• Evaluate current EA engagement and make recommendations and decisions on how to ensure ongoing quality and engagement of EA volunteers 

• Develop and execute annual goals for the EA program that are aligned to our organizational priorities and unified state strategy 

• Consider, create, and implement new ways to enhance the program’s success, as measured by clear metrics and demonstrated outcomes  

Program Management (60%) 

• Serve as the Educator Ambassador (EA) program manager and primary liaison to internal and external leaders 

• Represent the EA program and the College Board to external constituents (e.g. district superintendents, school principals, teachers, legislators, and governors), through public speaking and written communications 

• Create excitement for and lead in-person and virtual gatherings of Educator Ambassadors and their students during legislative visits, conferences, and other external meetings.  Serve as the on-the-ground leader who helps EAs and their students feel prepared, excited, and confident as they meet with legislators, governors, media, and board members. 

• Develop and enhance the Educator Ambassador program, collaborating with colleagues across the division and organization to find, cultivate, and engage school district superintendents, administrators, school principals, teachers, and student alumni.
