Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

You will be a key member within Trade and Transaction Reporting Technology team, responsible for providing and supporting resilient, secure infrastructure technology and services to customers, clients and colleagues across the globe.

To be successful as a Senor Java Developer you should have experience with:

• Extensive experience of writing multithreaded server applications using Java, Micro services, RESTFul, Camel, Spring Framework, Apache Ignite

• Experience on messaging layers like Apache Kafka, IBM MQ and Solace

• Experience in Data Mapping, Integration and Analysis with very large data sets to maintain operational & analytical scripts to swiftly build and/or resolve reporting data quality issues or lead to report data cause analysis.

• Excellent SQL and RDBMS knowledge and experience in SQL queries optimization, writing efficient functions, test scenario and test cases in SQL, stored procedures and complex SQL queries is needed

• Utilizing Python, UNIX Shell Scripting and Windows Powershell to build scripts to automate manual processes like File Transfer and Batch Processing

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Considerable design skills and experience working with high-volume data sets and high-throughput messaging and batch systems, JVM performance tuning.

• Ideally have experience of working in an Ops Tech, Regulatory Reporting or Trade Capture environment.

• Good knowledge of one relational database server, preferably SQL Server. Able to implement tables, views, stored procedures and write optimized SQL statements.

• Ability to work independently and have ample communication skills.
