JOB SUMMARY

The Student and Clinical Program Manager is responsible for the comprehensive coordination and administration of student and clinical educational experiences, including observations, non-clinical internships, and clinical rotations. This role requires effective management of contract agreements, onboarding processes, and precise record-keeping to ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be a creative and detail-oriented professional with experience in organizing diverse learning experiences and providing support resources for students and clinical personnel. This position demands an individual capable of balancing multiple responsibilities and contributing to the continued growth and success of the Student and Clinical Services at UVA Community Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of educational experiences, including clinical rotations, non-clinical internships, and observation programs.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of student and clinical program activities, including contract management, student onboarding, and orientation, ensuring all processes meet accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to establish and maintain a sustainable, high-quality student educational program, ensuring its alignment with the institution's strategic direction.
  • Promote a standardized system for student recruitment, onboarding, and orientation, streamlining the process across various departments and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies related to student programs and ensure they support operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Supervise and administer educational programs, with a focus on continuous improvement and growth, to enhance the student and clinical experience at UVA Community Health.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in coordinating educational or clinical programs, ideally in a healthcare or academic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements for student and clinical programs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
    • Engages in active listening, asking questions when appropriate.  
    • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations when requested.  
    • Effectively uses various technology communication methods to keep stakeholders informed of progress of projects and/or issues. 
    • Improves team performance by mentoring, training, and motivating in order to facilitate cooperation. 
  • Ability to innovate and improve processes to support the success and development of student and clinical services.
  • Enhances professional competency through continuing education and researching of material internally or externally. 
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills.  
  • Uses critical thinking to assist in decision making and issue resolution. 
  • Updates professional skills by taking educational classes as needed 

This position plays a crucial role in shaping and advancing the student and clinical experience at UVA Community Health.

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required. 

Experience: Three years preferred. Program coordination or management experience, variety of learning and development activities in the academic setting. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Licensure: Registered Nurse licensure in applicable state required. Nursing professional certifications preferred.
