Job Description

Basic Purpose

Positions in this job are responsible for providing help desk and communication services to all agency employees.Ā 

Typical Functions

  • Monitors helpdesk tickets implementing escalation protocol when needed; prioritizes service request tickets based on urgency.

  • Utilizes OMES Tools for Service Request Management and Documentation.

  • Coordinates the dispatch of technicians for user issues requiring onsite resolutions.

  • Improves usage and increases productivity of IT support resources.

  • Utilizes internal tools to communicate effectively on the phone to both clients and service desk technicians.

  • Manages and maintains accurate digital records for all information technology service requests.

  • Works closely with other staff to distribute surplus equipment and accessories.

Education and Experience

Three (3) years of experience in Managed Services, IT Help Desk, IT Consulting, or three (3) years of experience in a correctional setting.Ā 

Ā 

Preferred Qualifications:Ā Ā  IT Certifications a plus but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

Knowledge of computer technology; computer operating systems, and related equipment; of technical terminology; and of modern office practices related to the use of management information systems. Ability is required to gather, organize, and present data, to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
