Job Summary

The Senior Software Engineer will provide software design and development support to DoD and help manage and guide junior engineers’ clients at our office in Melbourne, Florida.
 
 
Responsibilities:

  • Perform software development, system architecture design, and system testing for Cloud Application/Cloud Services.
  • Develop initiatives in a team setting, working with algorithm developers and other software engineers.
  • Help evaluate technologies, determine technical architectures, lead systems development teams.
  • Work in multiple programming languages including but not limited to HTML, CSS, Node.JS, JavaScript, python and server programming along with Graphical User Interface development.  Architect Cloud Services backend applications/systems and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and other DevSecOps practices.
  • Track development progress, including issues and milestones, and communicate status with project leads. 
  • Manage and help establish code versioning control system (Git with GitLab/GitHub or similar), for source code control. 
  • Manage a continuous integration environment onsite using Jenkins to test code releases.  
  • Support and/or lead technical architecture development tasks. 
  • Research cloud-based deployment options and requirements, such as AWS or C2S. Gather stakeholder feedback and communicate system architecture details for use in design documentation and development. 
  • Coordinate VTCs, team meetings, and demos when needed.  
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with senior level clients in order to explain the progress and results of work.

 

 Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must have an active secret or higher security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and eleven (11) or more years of directly related experience.
  • Experience in Linux server environments with proficiency in shell scripting.
  • Must have knowledge, skills/abilities in Linux, HTML, CSS, Node.JS, JavaScript, Typescript, SQL, Software QA/QC, Databases (PostgreSQL, NoSQL, and SQL), Gitlab, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, and Commercial Cloud Services (AWS, or similar).
  • Ability to research technical issues.
  • Ability to delegate implementation plans to subordinate members of project team.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices regarding web development security.
  • Experience developing software in a classified environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS). 
  • Experience with Docker and other containerization technologies (Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift).
  • DevSecOps experience.
  • Ability to work in multiple programming languages including but not limited to JavaScript (Node.js), TypeScript, Python, etc.
  • Experience programming in Linux.
  • Good communication and listening skills. 
  • Must be able to interact with algorithm development and software teams.
  • Database Design and Maintenance.
  • Successful background and drug screening check.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Active Top-Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Prior experience working with CCSDS, OMS/UCI, CDM, C2SSA COI, and EOSSA data formats or other Space Systems-related data types.
  • Ability to create customized code to perform data ingestion, processing, and transformation/translation. Includes ability to code solutions which utilize data from multiple sites, sensors and/or data types.
  • Experience implementing caching methods and working with AWS ElastiCache.
  • Federal Cloud Computing Strategy and Standards.
  • Knowledge and expertise in user access control for secure access to information systems.
  • Familiarity with dynamic front-end content, including React, Angular, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with classified development platforms.
