JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of European Commercial FP&A, the Manager, Commercial FP&A - Europe is a key member of BioCryst’s Financial Planning & Analysis organization supporting our European entities. This position will play a key role in providing our business partners with the information needed to support their strategic decision making. The financial support provided to our European business partners includes reporting results, budgeting / forecasting and ad-hoc support. A successful candidate has a strong understanding of financial fundamentals, is eager to learn, collaborative and detail oriented. #LI-Remote
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support of the business partners within the European entities
- Assist with the Financial Planning and Analysis processes for the European commercial organization, which include monthly and quarterly closes, quarterly budgeting and forecasting and management reporting
- Participate in the monthly / quarterly accounting close for European expenses and accruals
- Prepare monthly variance analysis of actuals to forecast and budget, explain and investigate any major discrepancies and understand key business drivers for the European entities
- Assist in managing the day-to-day finance related activities such as purchase requisition approvals, external vendor accruals and payment tracking
- Perform ad hoc analysis to support strategy discussions and decisions, process improvement initiatives and other special projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA or BS degree or Business Degree, prefer Qualified Management Accountant (CMA, CIMA, or similar), with at least 5 years of relevant progressive Financial Planning & Analysis experience required. Biotech or pharmaceuticals industry experience is a plus.
- Experience leading FP&A activities for commercial organizations across Europe (including Budgeting/Forecasting, Management P&L´s, Revenue Recognition and OPEX management).
- Able to extract pertinent data from ERP system to support above duties, comfortable working with large data sets and building comprehensive dashboard reports. Oracle and/or Onestream experience are a plus.
- Experience implementing FP&A tools leading to process improvements.
- Experience of working for multinational companies in a complex environment.
- Fluency with analyzing and interpreting financial statements, including foreign currency impacts.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with revenue planning and recognition

- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal (team player/ability to work cross functionally) skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office required (Particularly Microsoft Excel). Experience with BI and Dashboarding tools like Power BI / Power Pivot / Power Query will be highly preferred.
