SUMMARY
Respectfully assist MRI team members in maintaining efficient daily workflow; helpful in all aspects of quality patient care and safety in MRI.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist in maintaining patient and team safety in MRI environment.
- Introduce yourself to patient, verify patient's identity, and explain what you will be doing.
- Prepare patients for MRI exam by: providing instruction on changing clothes and securing belongings, obtaining current weight of patient, reviewing MRI screening sheet, and offering additional instructions and reminders to patients for successful scanning.
- Assist MRI technologist with each MRI exam to maintain efficiencies and patient care.
- Remain alert to MRI technologist and patient needs in case of emergency.
- Maintain MRI exam data worksheet with accurate information.
- Complete patient exam information by: confirming that all images arrived in the PACS system, entering required data for Radiologist review, entering required data for billing purposes, ensuring timely return of results into patient charts with provider notification.
- Follow-up with Radiology reading group for delays or technical difficulties in services provided.
- When requested by patients or outside offices, provide requested imaging studies on CD; properly document completion of requested tasks.
- Import/Export CD's using OV's PACS system.
- Maintain adequate supplies for sharing images, includes but not limited to: CD's, labels, and mailing supplies.
- Maintain patient care and cleaning supplies, including but not limited to: patient scrubs, exam linens, gloves, and disinfecting wipes.
- Manage laundry for MRI and Injection Suite.
SECONDARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for working as an assistant in Radiology and adhering to all Radiology policies when not assigned in MRI; refer to job description for a complete list of duties and responsibilities.
- Assist Injection Suite team as needed.
- Adhere to MRI policies, notify management of questions or concerns.
- Transcribe and schedule MRI referrals from outside facilities and in-house providers
- Assist with projects as directed by the Lead MRI Technologist and Director of Ancillary Services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Attend Department and Team meetings as required.
- Attend OV Continuing Education classes as required.
