At AstraZeneca, we’re looking for a Senior Director, Corporate Legal at our Boston location.

As a member of the Corporate Legal group, you’ll be part of a team of transaction lawyers, focused on delivering the most important projects for our Business Development and Global Operations groups. Your work will include supporting critical public and private M&A deals, venture transactions, JV’s and licensing & collaborations, as well as supply chain, digital/IT, procurement and other commercial matters for AstraZeneca. We’re looking for a talented, ambitious lawyer to help AstraZeneca become a world leader in our therapeutic areas of focus, including Oncology, Biopharmaceuticals (including cardiovascular, renal & metabolism; respiratory & immunology; and vaccines and immune therapies) and Rare Disease. Your specialist expertise will be key to achieving this ambition.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
In this Global role, you’ll provide legal advice across AstraZeneca’s global organization, working closely with senior leaders. Using your knowledge of commercial and corporate law you will provide drafting, negotiation and business counsel support to lead the legal support for key transactions, independently driving projects to completion and helping to mitigate critical legal and business risks. The role will see you personally handling complex legal matters, interpreting and drafting contracts, and taking a global perspective and your work may involve overseas travel. You’ll foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaborative working with your counterparts across the Legal function.
Essential Skills/Experience
• Professional US legal qualification
• 10+ years of experience with corporate transactions, including public and private M&A
• Experience with venture transactions is preferred
• Knowledge of and experience working in the life sciences sector
• Strong leadership capabilities
• Solution and action orientated approach
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage complexity and cultivate innovation
• Demonstrable accountability and integrity
• Ability to act independently and drive projects to completion
Desirable Skills/Experience
• Previous experience working in-house
• Experience advising a global pharmaceutical business
• Experience with licensing & collaboration transactions
• Understanding of manufacturing and supply chains
• Experience of working in a global legal environment

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $203,810.40 - $305,715.60 USD. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles).
