We are looking for an Electrical Validation Engineer to join our hardware team working on future wearables and accessory devices reporting directly to the VP of Hardware.  This opportunity will be hybrid out of our San Diego office.

What You will do:

  • Drive the validation and verification of electrical systems and subsystems for our next-generation wearable products.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, protocols, and procedures to evaluate performance, reliability, power, and safety.
  • Design and execute bench-level validation experiments, including signal integrity, power analysis, sensor accuracy, and wireless performance.
  • Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, and design teams to ensure robust hardware-software integration and manufacturability.
  • Work cross-functionally with the QA, manufacturing, and reliability teams to debug, root-cause, and resolve system-level electrical issues.
  • Support the integration and bring-up of early prototypes, ensuring validation coverage across multiple design phases.
  • Provide hands-on support in the lab, including test fixture development and automation scripting for efficient testing.
  • Travel 15–20% to Finland and international manufacturing sites for validation support and production readiness.

Requirements

We would love to have you on our team, if you have:

  • 3+ years of experience validating and shipping high-volume consumer electronics, with a focus on low-power systems, sensor technologies, and wireless interfaces.
  • Deep expertise in electrical validation, including analog and digital signal testing, power profiling, and protocol-level debugging (UART, I2C, SPI, MIPI, etc).
  • Experience developing and executing hardware validation plans, including environmental and regulatory pre-compliance testing.
  • Proficiency with EE lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, signal generators, and power analyzers.
  • Familiarity with schematic and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence), with the ability to collaborate on design reviews.
  • Experience scripting basic automation tasks in Python, MATLAB, or similar for test automation and data analysis.
  • Prior work with wearables, optical sensing, wireless charging, or ultra-low-power systems is highly desirable.
  • A strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and a drive to proactively identify and mitigate risks early in the development cycle.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and influence product decisions.
  • Communication and Collaboration Skills: Effective communication and collaboration skills are important. Be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, work with other engineers and designers, and contribute to project planning and documentation.
