Pay:  $22.62 per hour  

Work Schedule: Flexible - Monday- Friday- 4 hours a day (20 hours a week) Hybrid

The Part-Time Junior System Administrator supports the organizations IT infrastructure by assisting with server upkeep, user account management, routine system maintenance, and basic troubleshooting tasks.  This role focuses on minimizing downtime, supporting software and hardware installations, and helping maintain reliable IT services.  Clear documentation, timely communication, and attention to detail are essential to ensure smooth operations and quality service delivery.

 

Server Administration

  • Assist with responding to server issues and perform basic troubleshooting to help minimize downtime and user disruptions.
  • Support the setup and configuration of server hardware and software under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Help maintain server reliability by monitoring performance and escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors when directed to obtain technical support or updates for server components.
  • Assist in configuring server software to ensure compatibility with network systems and applications.
  • Provide general support to departmental administrators during network or server-related tasks, following standard procedures.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance activities with clear communication of assigned tasks and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date service ticket documentation with attention to timely resolution and quality service.
  • Support server-related project tasks as assigned, contributing to timelines and progress tracking.

 

Infrastructure Management

  • Process basic user account changes such as ID creation, deactivation, voice mail setup, email accounts, and group membership reviews.
  • Provide limited support for printers and multifunction devices, including minor troubleshooting, driver updates, and maintaining documentation.
  • Help deploy new equipment and ensure hardware inventory is recorded and kept current.

 

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent.

 

Preferred Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent with 1 year of experience with Windows Servers.
