POSITION SUMMARY:

Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas through local administration of the Refugee Reception and Placement (R&P) program. Support the refugee and accounting departments in assuring R&P financial records and client files are in compliance. This position is part-time and mostly remote, with a requirement to come into office once a week. EEO.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Collaborate with Catholic Charities accounting department to ensure accurate, timely documentation of financial transactions related to Refugee Reception and Placement (R&P) client direct assistance. 
• Able to attend in person coordination meetings with Refugee Reception and Placement (R&P) staff to confirm ongoing client engagement. 
• Maintains and prepares pre-paid R&P inventory items, acting as a liaison between the case manager and accounting department.
• Supports Refugee Reception and Placement (R&P) team with submission of financial vouchers and reconciliation of monthly VISA expenses.
• Create client case files for new R&P arrivals.
• Conduct routine audits using R&P Monitoring Tool to ensure quality control of services provided and to confirm vouchers, receipts, Acknowledgement of Receipt of Direct Assistance, and other documentation is included in case files.
• Communicates case concerns and client non-compliance with R&P staff. 
• Coordinate with facilities team on vehicle mileage used by the resettlement program, including mileage tracking and reconciling monthly VISA expenses. 
• Contributes to grant and agency reporting in a timely manner.

Requirements

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English. Must have competent organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in non-profit management, social work, or finance or comparable experience is preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and professional. 
• Must have ability to work effectively in an environment that is multi-cultural and multi-lingual without preference to any certain language, ethnic, nationality, or religious groups.
• Knowledge of public policy and how it affects refugees.
• Demonstrate a passion for the mission of Catholic Charities
• Must be willing to perform by the agency’s values: love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self- control and joy
• Catholic Charities promotes a diverse workforce. • Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as required
• Must possess a valid Driver’s license, dependable transportation, current vehicle insurance and a verified safe driving record. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and moving
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds 
• Must have the physical ability to complete assignments in a variety of environments: homes of those we serve, extreme heat, humidity, dust, smoke, pet contamination, cleaning supplies, etc.
• May be exposed to infectious diseases
• Must have physical ability to effectively communicate with others
• Must have the physical ability and appropriate licensure for driving
