Early Childhood Innovation Network Research Assistant - Georgetown University Medical Center

Requirements

The Early Childhood Innovation Network (ECIN) is a local collaborative of health and education providers, community-based organizations, researchers, and advocates promoting resilience in families and children from pregnancy through age five in Washington, DC. ECIN is seeking a Research Assistant to support the multidisciplinary team on two community-based research projects. This position will work with senior staff and faculty to design, implement, and evaluate the projects. They will be responsible for conducting literature reviews and assisting with recruitment and data collection. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee data collection, entry, management, and analysis for research and evaluation studies, whether quantitative or qualitative.

• Manage study logistics and processes, participating in ECIN team meetings and attending all relevant project-related activities. 

• Assist with organizing and writing Institutional Review Board applications, progress and evaluation reports, and research articles.

• Develop and revise evaluation instruments, training, presentation, and dissemination materials.

• Manage literature searches, reviewing and synthesizing various topical areas in children’s mental health, home, and community-based services.

• Organize and maintain research and evaluation resources/library/references.

• Provide scheduling, documentation of minutes, and other support for project team or team meetings and data collection sites.

• Attend weekly project team meetings and bi-weekly or center-wide meetings as appropriate.

Work Interactions

The position will report administratively to Morcia Mason and programmatically to Hillary Robertson, Senior Research Associate in the Department of Psychiatry. This position will interface with project faculty and staff, and will communicate regularly with community partners on the grant. In addition, the position will interface with team members from the Early Childhood Innovation Network (ECIN), and other partnering agencies.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, public health, or other relevant field

• Basic knowledge of the principles, processes, and methods of social science research through reading literature and/or experience in the field

• A successful candidate will have one year of experience in a research setting

• The candidate must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Possess knowledge of library and web-related research and have an interest in early childhood

Preferred Requirements and Qualifications

• Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of one year of experience in a research position

• Desirable candidates will have working knowledge of quantitative or qualitative statistical software (SPSS, STATA, R, Atlas.ti, Dedoose) and online survey software (Qualtrics, REDCap)

• Experience conducting literature reviews and working in community settings is preferred

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$41,926.00 - $65,090.00

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
