Sony AI is seeking highly motivated, self-driven individuals with expertise in software engineering, machine learning and interest in AI ethics.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Implement, train, and evaluate machine learning models and metrics
  • Collect, annotate and curate large-scale machine learning datasets
  • Support the development of AI Ethics research projects from the ground up
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD best practices for machine learning projects
  • Work closely with a team of AI researchers and engineers in the US, Switzerland, and Japan on ambitious AI Ethics projects

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor, Master’s or PhD in computer science, software engineering, or related fields
  • At least three years of post-degree or equivalent experience in building machine learning projects from the ground up (open-source contributions are welcome!)
  • Strong knowledge of computer vision pipeline (e.g., tasks, models, metrics, datasets). Familiarity with natural language processing or signal processing is a plus.
  • Excellent proficiency in python. Knowledge of pytorch or tensorflow is required.
  • Experience working with different business stakeholders, such as researchers, engineers, and annotators
  • Interest in AI Ethics and developing machine learning models and datasets in a safe and responsible manner

Other Required Knowledge

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, including the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to deliver on tight deadlines and adapt to evolving or changing requirements

Working Location

United States (location flexible), Zurich, Tokyo

The anticipated annual base salary for this position in the US is $200,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
