The School of Visual & Performing Arts is currently seeking individuals to teach one or both of the following courses in the Fall 2024 semester, with classes starting on August 28, 2024 and ending on December 19, 2024.

PHT113 Audio and Video Production for Photographers

Course Description:

This course is an introduction to the methodologies and technologies of multimedia production employing audio and video. Through assigned projects, students will explore concepts relating to the use of sound and moving image for the purpose of description, narrative, experimentation and expression. Assignments will be supported by lectures, readings and demonstrations. Students will be introduced to historical and contemporary applications ofmaudio and video media in the context of assigned projects.

Course meets in person. This studio course meets for 4 hours a week.  

PHT213 Filmmaking for Photographers

This second course extends the basic concepts of audio video capture and the production of

time-based works that were introduced in PHT113. This second course extends the basic

concepts of audio video capture and the production of time-based works that were introduced

in PHT113. Through the development and production of short films, students work with

advanced filmmaking techniques and workflows that include short narrative film, and documentary short subject.

Course meets in person. This studio course meets for 4 hours a week

Endicott instructors are expected to:

• Deliver the course(s) in person in their assigned time blocks.

• Abide by Endicott’s academic policies as described in the College’s faculty handbook.

• Use the course description and honor the learning outcomes of each course.

• Use Canvas as the course’s learning management system.

• Meet deadlines for roster verification and submission of grades.

• Communicate with the dean or other administrators if issues arise concerning the teaching of specific classes.

• Meet with students if they request assistance or need clarification for any course-related matter, if requested.

• Deliver samples of student work that may be used for assessment purposes.

• Use Endicott email when communicating with students outside of class.

Qualifications: Master of Fine Arts Degree in photography or closely-aligned discipline and/or Bachelor's degree in field with substantial and appropriate industry experience. College-level teaching experience is preferred.
