Our location in Roanoke, VA currently has an opportunity for a Pediatric Sales Specialist. This position is responsible for the promotion, management and growth of Abbott Pediatric Nutritional products in hospital and office settings.
Territory
- The ideal candidate will be based out of Roanoke, VA
- This territory includes Roanoke, Lynchburg, Harrisonburg, VA; Beckley, WV; and Mt. Airy NC markets
- A minimum of 4 overnights per month required to effectively cover this geography.
- Additional 5-10% travel for Regional/National meetings annually.
- This position does not offer relocation. Local candidates only, please.
Responsibilities
- Developing and supporting territory sales goals in each hospital and office service area for Similac and PediaSure.
- Hospital negotiations and contracting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all products, clinical studies, protocols and guidelines as well as the ability to deliver the information in a selling environment.
- New product launches.
- An understanding of the hierarchy of hospital departments such as NICU, Pediatrics, Pharmacies, Purchasing, PICU, Nurseries and Nursing units. The ability to work effectively with Dietitians, Physicians and Nurses.
- Effective administrative skills.
- Budget management.
- Ability to function independently with a high degree of initiative, independence, and autonomy.
- Desire to be self- motivated, seeking out success at achieving both short and long term goals.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- The ideal candidate will be individuals with 2+ years of healthcare sales experience combined with clinical experience (Registered Dietitians and Registered Nurses).
- Will also consider candidates with only one of those backgrounds listed above.
- Knowledge of hospital sales, specifically within pediatrics a plus.
