This role has been designed as ‘’Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

Job Description:

   

Essential Job Functions and Duties:

• Install, service, and repair HPC AI, Accelerator QA, and Fabric QA systems.
• May involve support of pre-production quality hardware.
• Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment. 
• Perform preventive maintenance on systems and peripherals to decrease failures and maximize system uptime.
• Maintain individual system documentation and cabling diagrams.
• Updating hardware BIOS and firmware as requested/required.
• Report successes, failures, and issues in a timely manner to upper management.   Work with remote administrators when their expertise and help is needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe lab environment.
• Requires weekly 7x24 on-call rotation, one week every five weeks.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge and experience of maintaining system hardware, utilizing diagnostic tools, and problem isolation in a large-scale computing environment.  Performs hardware repairs (swapping boards, cards, cables, processors, GPUs etc.).
• Programming and scripting knowledge and experience (e.g. Perl, Python, C++, etc.) desirable.
• Ability to gather data and perform analysis and escalate to a higher level of support.
• The successful candidate will be well organized, take an analytical approach to problems and will be fully committed to drive problems through to their conclusion. He or she needs to be a good team player and be committed to investigate and resolve complex problems as part of a team.
• The successful candidate will possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure while working to strict deadlines

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors or 2-year degree in computer science or related field/discipline
• Requires a minimum of 1-2 years of hardware experience, ideally in an area related to HPC

Job Conditions:

• Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly
