A day in the life of a Security Patrol Officer at Colleton River:

  • Assist local agencies as requested.
  • Issue citations and give verbal and written warnings; this position may be required to assist local authorities with law enforcement activities as needed.
  • Accept and issue packages and record them in the package receipt log.
  • Patrol the premises and parameters of the Club to ensure safety and compliance at all times.
  • Respond immediately to all emergency calls to include, but not limited to, the following:

        · Alarm monitors received by gate monitor receiver or calls from the sheriff department or other alarm monitoring agencies

        · Traffic accidents

        · Criminal activity in progress

        · Assistance for injured/sick

        · Critter/wildlife calls

  • Enforce state and local laws as well as Colleton River Club policies and procedures, including the reporting of covenant violations.  
  • Provide proactive patrol by means of vehicle and foot.  
  • Work in an unarmed status. 
  • Provide backup for other officers as necessary.
  • Respond to general calls for service such as access and/or locked building, animal removal, motorist assistance, Members and guests and to provide for personal safety.
  • Provide escorts.
  • Assist other agencies as requested.
  • Complete house checks and make in-house deliveries when required.
  • Run radar at all times while on patrol plus stationary radar as scheduled.
  • Prepare and submit applicable reports; keep daily patrol log.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Typical Work Schedule:

Monday: 2:00 PM -10:00 PM

Tuesday: 2:00 PM -10:00 PM

Wednesday: Off

Thursday: Off

Friday: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Saturday: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Sunday: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

  • Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Crawling, crouching, climbing stairs, kneeling, running, sitting, standing, stooping, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Strong communication skills.
