- Location: Subbase Groton, CT
- Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00am through 3:30pm (Required to work in inclement weather; Mandatory occasional weekend/night work)
If you enjoy working outside and staying active, this job is for you. We’re looking for reliable people to join our landscaping laborer team. You don’t need any experience—we’ll teach you everything you need to know, like how to mow lawns, trim bushes, and spread mulch. Just bring a good attitude and be ready to learn.
A Day in the Life of a Landscaping Crew Member:
- Start your day by checking in in your supervisor and your team members.
- Review the day’s assignments and load up the truck with the tools and equipment you’ll need.
- Once you arrive at your assigned location, you’ll jump into action by:
- Mowing large lawn areas, edging sidewalks and driveways, and trimming around trees, fences, and other hard-to-reach spots.
- Next, you’ll focus on landscaping tasks like:
- Weeding flowerbeds, pruning shrubs and small trees, laying mulch, or planting seasonal flowers.
- As you wrap up the job site, you’ll blow off walkways, clear any debris, and make sure everything looks polished.
- You'll reload tools, clean up the work area, and communicate any site notes or equipment issues to your crew leader.
- Once the team arrives back to the office, you’ll help unload, clean up, and prep for the next day.
What You Need to Be Successful:
- No landscaping experience required—we provide full training.
- Must be willing to learn how to safely use landscaping tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely around equipment and outdoor environments.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate respectfully with coworkers and supervisors.
- Dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail when completing tasks such as debris removal, edging, or cleanup.
- Valid Real ID.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Involves repetitive motions such as raking, shoveling, trimming, and pushing landscaping equipment.
- Requires sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle tools and perform detailed tasks.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- May involve exposure to dust, pollen, fertilizers, and other landscaping materials or chemicals.
