Summary of Position: The Assistant Track & Field Coach must be committed to the Lordship of Christ. This not only means having the correct intellectual belief, but it involves a radical transformation in every area of one’s lifestyle. The Coach must continually seek opportunities to grow and possess strong character traits through the regular practicing of the spiritual disciplines (e.g. prayer, meditation, Bible reading) and develop ministry values that express what God can do in impacting student athletes with whom they interact.The primary role of the Assistant Track & Field Coach will be to spearhead the recruiting efforts within the Track & Field and Cross Country programs. This individual will need to be relational and have a desire to connect and build relationships with high school coaches in Indiana and surrounding states. They will also need to be able to develop a recruiting plan aimed at accomplishing our team’s recruiting goals. Additionally, this individual will need to have a Track & Field background and willingness to contribute in coaching one of our event areas (preferably sprints, hurdles, or jumps). There will be “other duties as assigned” throughout the year. This position involves frequent verbal, written, and email correspondence with students, parents, faculty and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Take lead in the recruiting efforts of prospective student-athletes
- Assists with practice schedules, home competitions, team travel, and event management, individualized instruction, evaluation
- Coordinates recruitment and travel
- Proficient communication skills
- Maintains a high degree of professionalism
- Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills
- Demonstrates a high commitment to quality
- Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty
- Highly thorough and dependable
- Ability to drive a 15-passenger van
- Help with meet-day management
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Education
- Bachelor's Degree required
Experience
- Must have some level of experience in coaching (college level experience preferred). That includes recruiting student-athletes, marketing, scheduling, equipment budgeting/management, and facility care.
