About the role
Salary: $125,000 / Year
Summary of Duties: Develop control system designs, develop, deploy, & commission Programmable Logic Controller code, and develop graphical user interfaces for material handling systems. Test and emulate code functionality prior to on-site deployment and testing. Troubleshoot PLC code and electrical equipment functionality on-site during commissioning and testing activities. Collaborate with Electrical Engineering resources to support control network architecture requirements and design. Define electrical device requirements for system control. Support estimates for complex module development, and system commissioning requirements. Perform reviews of complex customer standards & specifications and other documentation to determine system requirements. Develop recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction. Complete the software quality process through the execution of complex module, subsystem, and system test procedures.
Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field and Seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation. The employee will accept an alternate of Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field and Five (5) years’ experience. The position requires experience with the following: Rockwell automation PLC programming including GuardLogix; Industrial machine control development and troubleshooting; Ethernet/IP network architecture; Interpreting electrical schematic drawings; understanding of HMI programming.
