As a Manufacturing Engineer and Lean Leader you will oversee and the lead the activities associated with the manufacturing engineering department as well as the development and deployment of a plant-wide lean culture. Work with plant leadership to establish a customer-based improvement strategy, which drives safety, customer responsiveness, lead time reduction, quality improvement, and cost reduction in line with business/functional objectives.

  • Oversee part quoting and project tendering functions.  Identify ways to improve quoting within’ the business teams to provide more timely and accurate information to stakeholders.
  • Work with stakeholders to scope product offering by reviewing the requested specification with product standards for alignment, or deviation if needed.
  • Willingness to integrate and develop new product lines and processes.
  • Provide support on Non-Conformance Management.
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Create the lean vision and implement a lean strategy to reduce quality defect, lead time and process waste.
  • Lead plant-wide training and deployment of practical problem-solving methodology.
  • Create and lead performance management reporting through lean visual management methods to improve SQDCM.
  • Develop value stream maps and process swim-lane charts to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Coach, train and mentor site leadership on the fundamentals and principals of lean manufacturing & management methods.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial or mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of lean manufacturing experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing and production processes related to machining and fabrication.
  • Preferred shop floor operational / leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document, plan and execute programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated inclusive behavior with ability to connect and influence team.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Comfortable leading teams and assigning tasks.

The salary range for this position is $81,700 to $109,200 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a 10% performance bonus.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
