SUPERVISOR:
Manager or designee. 

SUMMARY:  
Responsible for all areas of grounds maintenance and irrigation throughout the District. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Repairs broken laterals and main lines, including ploy, PVC and copper. [Daily, 25%]
• Locates, troubleshoots and repairs electric valves, low voltage wiring and various sprinkler heads. [Daily, 20%]
• Tests, repairs and services pumps (3/4 HP-30 HP) and backflow devices. [Daily, 20%]
• Operates and maintains equipment. Responsible for assigned personnel. Follows all safety rules and regulations. [Daily, 5%]
• Shares on call snow removal duties as assigned. [Monthly, 5%]
• Supervises and performs all phases of landscape construction, maintenance and repair District-wide, including assisting with fertilization. [Quarterly, 10%]
• Supervises and performs layouts and installation of irrigation systems. [Quarterly, 10%]
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years experience in commercial grounds or irrigation maintenance.
• Knowledge of maintenance and operations of trenchers and various equipment.
• Must have phone for emergency contact.
• Must meet the insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: 

• Valid Colorado driver’s license.
• Possesses or must obtain a CDL Class A license within six (6) months of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Licensed in Backflow Prevention.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

• Good motor skills - hand tools and machinery used daily.
• Extremely heavy physical lifting of over fifty (50) lbs. Items will be of various shapes and sizes.
• Overhead lifting and squatting required on daily projects.
• Repetitive motion (i.e., digging, bending, kneeling, etc.).
• Pushing and pulling.
• Climbing stairs, ladders and vehicles.
• Squatting.
• Overhead work.
• Working at various vertical heights.
