As an intern with our Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Systems organization you will support design and integration of products for the Government marketplace. The ideal candidate shall have a well-rounded background; one that has demonstrated experience or training in multiple aspects of electrical engineering such as RF, digital, FPGA, and analog design. Come and be part of an exciting and cohesive team of engineers responsible for developing key subsystems for the PNT product lines.  You will troubleshoot technical and electrical device problems, operate engineering software and equipment, and confer with stakeholders regarding engineering projects. This role is onsite, in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do:

  • You will resolve day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption.
  • You will participate in technical preparations for new product development and implementation to ensure new products meet the required specifications.
  • You will operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • You will confer with engineers, customers, vendors and other stakeholders on existing and potential engineering projects or products.
  • You will research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.

What You Will Learn:

  • How GPS works in military applications and what we can do to ensure robust PNT (Position, Navigation, and Timing) solutions reach the warfighter.
  • How to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively within them.
  • How to design, troubleshoot, and test complex electronic devices produced right here in Iowa.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Basic schematic capture (Mentor Graphics or equivalent), circuit simulation (Hyperlynx, PSPICE, etc), and lab troubleshoot (oscilloscope, network analyzer, etc.) skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask small and large projects.
  • Desire to work in a multi-discipline team environment.
