Location: This position is located at Umatilla Hatchery in Irrigon, Oregon.
The goal of this recruitment is to fill the position at the Fish & Wildlife Technician (FWT) level. However, we encourage candidates to apply as the Fish & Wildlife Technician Entry level ($3,218-$3,948/mo.), as the department may consider under-filling the position.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The primary role of this position is to play a crucial role in supporting our work unit by caring for fish throughout the complete hatchery cycle, performing maintenance on grounds and equipment, and assisting in achieving assigned management goals within a fish hatchery environment. Some of the duties will include:
Care for fish and perform grounds and equipment maintenance and other related duties. Pond, feed, grade, and collect eggs from wild and hatchery fish; shock, pick, and enumerate eggs; regulate water sup
