Description

The NIH-funded Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation (FIRST) Research Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking to recruit up to 5 highly qualified first-time tenure-track faculty in the broad and intersecting fields of cancer, brain/neuroscience, and biomedical engineering. Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD, MD, MD/PhD or equivalent degree and the ability to direct independently funded research programs. The candidate may not have held a prior tenure-track position or received an independent NIH research award, such as an R01 or equivalent

  • Research statement describing past, present, and future research (no more than 3 pages)
  • Statement of teaching and mentoring philosophy describing your conceptualizations of teaching and mentoring, how you have mentored (or will mentor) student and trainee researchers and foster (or will foster) collaborative research environments to  engage students and trainees from a range of backgrounds and experiences. (1 page)
  • Copies of your three most significant publications (or preprints)
