About the job

The Content Delivery Systems team in IT Product Engineering manages IB’s core customer-facing applications, driving development, maintenance, enhancements, and the technical roadmap.

As a Senior Technical Engineer, you will lead implementation, maintenance, and system integrations with PL, LMS, CRM, HCM, covering front-end, back-end, licensing, eCommerce, and reporting. You will provide subject-matter expertise, stay updated on EdTech trends, and ensure products meet IB’s quality, creativity, and market standards, delivered on time and within budget.

This global role collaborates across time zones with teams and stakeholders in Singapore, The Hague, Cardiff, and Washington DC.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner for development, implementation, and maintenance of Professional Learning systems (e.g., Moodle).
• Lead implementation and integration efforts for core IB applications across PL, LMS, CRM, HCM, and other platforms.
• Develop and enforce standardized SaaS/PaaS implementation and maintenance practices aligned with industry standards.
• Collaborate with business leads, solution architects, and vendors to provide support on performance, configuration, security, audit, compliance, and troubleshooting.
• Manage release management, system upgrades, and patching in coordination with business stakeholders.
• Own the product and technology roadmap for IB’s learning platforms, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and budget.
• Oversee data flow, reporting, and integrations between Moodle and other IB systems.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure adherence to IB procurement processes.

Job Requirements

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification with significant experience in a similar technology environment.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of LMS/LXP systems (Moodle, Saba, Canopy), system administration, and product ownership.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Microsoft Azure DevOps, or similar Agile toolsets.
  • Proven track record implementing complex IT projects successfully.
  • Deep understanding of system integrations, dependencies, and data flow.
• Financial/Operational Responsibility: Potential OpEx budget responsibility up to USD 400k for licensing, maintenance, support, plus additional USD 100k+ for enhancements and roadmap development.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to manage time and deliver results to a high standard.
