This position requires you to work on site at one of our facilities located throughout Broward County.
This is an OPS (Other Personal Services) positions and as such no paid time off is offered. Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment. OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a public health nutrition position working as a Public Health Nutritionist in the Florida Department of Health in Broward County. Employee provides nutrition education and support in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Work is performed under the supervision of the Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor.
This position is designated as a sensitive position and is required to maintain information in accordance with state and federal statutes, rules, and regulations, as well as of the Florida Department of Health in Broward County Policies, Protocols, and Procedures. This position has been delegated custodial authority for their Program/Unit's information set(s) and/or secured areas(s).
- Provides nutrition assessment, education and counseling to WIC medical high risk, high risk and low risk clients. Develops nutrition care plans. Provides breastfeeding promotion, education and support to WIC clients. Responsible for documenting all client contacts in the WIC FL-WISE Data System. Determines client program eligibility. Work is performed following DHM 150-24 rules and regulations.
- Assists in the in-service education for WIC staff.
- Acts on behalf of the Public Health Nutrition Supervisor or Senior Public Health Nutritionist during their absence.
