Position Overview

The Information Technology team, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a Global Project Manager, IT Supply Chain and Manufacturing! This full-time position will report to Director IT, Global BRM Manufacturing and Supply Chain. The incumbent support all aspects of project design, planning, implementation, and governance supporting a wide range of strategic technology projects to enable the Novelis future vision of manufacturing, supply chain process and automation business functions, that may cross multiple geographies and IT service delivery towers such as infrastructure, applications, data and advanced analytics, and operations. The IT Project Manager-Manufacturing will use Novelis’ standard tools, processes, and methodologies to lead Global IT projects across functions and regions in close collaboration with IT PMO colleagues and the IT leadership team!

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic global, cross functional IT focused passionate about the manufacturing, supply chain and automation business function using Novelis’ standard project management tools, processes, and methodologies.
  • Keep the management and key collaborators abreast of any/all projects, timelines, and general updates as it relates to strategic or project initiatives
  • Communicate regular updates to project and executive leadership team and other team members on delivery progress, plan updates and budget spend and forecast, including status report updates and other reporting as required
  • Prepare briefings for team members prior to meetings and conference calls
  • Track and model all expectations and/or proposed changes to each strategic or project initiative
  • Build project charters that include high level cost estimates, timelines, resource needs, and shepherd the project initiatives through the RFA process (funding authorization) for executives and cross-functional leaders based on estimate outcomes
  • Expertly lead and drive cross-functional projects, and individual project tracks of large programs through full delivery life cycle ensuring projects are delivered timely and on-budget
  • Work with cross subject area team members to validate project assumptions and review project plans with leadership
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors as required on project deliveries
  • Remain constantly aware of the status of each project and team, ensuring to remove blockers as they arise
  • Conduct risk assessments for projects
  • Represent members of the executive or leadership team, as assigned, at meetings delivering project progress updates, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations
  • Coordinate and implement the coordination of "high-level" events
  • Participate in special projects as needed
  • Share knowledge and expertise in industry leading practices for project management methodologies, e.g., Waterfall, Agile, DevOps or equivalent experience.
  • Contribute to the body of knowledge and forward direction of our Novelis IT project management function by contributing and collaborating as an active member of our IT PMO team.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field
  • 15 - 20+ years of experience in IT Global Project Management
  • Experience using a range of project management methodologies, processes, and tools
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile
  • Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification desired
  • Proven record in leading complex, global projects across a range of technologies related to Supply Chain and Manufacturing
  • Extensive domain knowledge and experience in Manufacturing Supply Chain End to End: Demand Planning, Direct Procurement, Inventory Management, Manufacturing systems (MES), World Class Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, “factory of the future” technologies and strategies, Inventory Management, Warehousing, and Transportation Management.
  • Broad IT knowledge base; process manufacturing experience for highly automated environments,
  • ERP (SAP/Oracle), Planning Systems, manufacturing execution systems, procurement systems, system integration, quality systems, scheduling systems, shop floor system integrations and ISA 95 model project
